Our mission is very simple: To provide parents (host families) with an effective, alternative form of childcare, giving them peace of mind while they pursue their busy lives and careers.
Our host families are all busy professional people who need to know that their children are being well cared for, not only physically, but on a mental, educational and emotional level. The Au Pair would assist with preparing meals, transport to doctors, shopping, hairdressing appointments, outings etc.
Selected Au Pairs are without exception, interviewed personally by a member of Au Pair Anywhere. They undergo a thorough and extensive screening process before being registered on our database. They are required to provide a fully comprehensive CV with recent contactable references, and a copy of their driver's license and Identity Document.
All our Au Pairs are mature, experienced, up market and educated women, who are well versed in the physical, emotional and educational aspects of caring for children. Many of them have Au Paired internationally, deciding to make a career of Au Pairing upon returning to South Africa.
A few of the typical duties of the Au Pairs, depending on our client's requirements could include the following:
- Transporting children to and from school and extra-mural activities.
- Assisting with homework and projects.
- Liaising with teachers at school on behalf of the parents.
- Ad-hoc duties, e.g. grocery shopping, taking children to the library, doctor, dentist, birthday parties etc.
- Arranging and supervising fun outings for the children during the school holidays.
- Supervision of domestic staff.
- Cooking dinner for either the whole family or just the children
- Baby-sitting in the evenings and over the week-ends.
In short the Au Pair is not a domestic, but becomes an integral, trusted and much relied upon part of your family.
The typical working hours of an Au Pair would depend on the requirements of the family. Some families prefer that the Au Pair lives in, in which case the working hours and time off is agreed upon before the Au Pair accepts employment with the family.
Other families would require the Au Pair to work only in the mornings or only in the afternoons when the children finish school. Each family's individual needs are assessed by Au Pair Anywhere, and Au Pairs with matching needs are then referred to the family for interviews.
