Au Pair Anywhere have been so wonderful to me. I have been in the USA for 7 months and I am currently living in Rumson, New Jersey. I live with a single family; Megan (my host mom), Sydney (7year old girl), Will (4year old boy)! I absolutely LOVE my "new family" and I have had the MOST wonderful, amazing, great experiences with them! I could not have asked for a better family!
I have made friends with ALOT of people from all over the world such as Brazil, Mexico, Swedan, Ukraine, Germany, New Zealand and ofcourse many South Africans too that have come abroad.
I was welcomed by a LOVELY American Family who have treated me apart of their family and have helped make my experience in the states THE GREATEST, BEST, MEMORABLE one yet! I have had the opportunity to travel to Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey, Indianapolis. I am going to be going with my family in a few months to California- Laguna Beach, San Fransisco and Los Angeles for Spring break. One of the MANY privilidges of being an Au Pair is the fact that you get included in family activities and you are made to feel part of their family. I DEFINITELY look forward to that.
I have a lovely, big, spacious bedroom seperate to the rest of the family where I have my own double bed, onsuite bathroom, tv and reading corner. One of the requirements as an au pair is to take 6 credits at your local community college in order to qualify for "money back" once your course/s are completed! Host parents are expected to pay $500 towards your education which goes towards your credits and this is a big help, you save alot of money and It is totally worth it because it keeps you occupied while the kids are at school as well. I am currently studying Introduction to Business and Health and Nutrition, both being 3 credits each at a College called Brookdale Community College in New Jersey! I thoroughly enjoy my courses as I get the opportunity to gain extra knowledge and take something that I have interest in doing. It is a great way to meet new people and make new friends and you are able to qualify for the 'bonus cash back' after you have completed your required credits!
Au Pair Anywhere work hand in hand with another au pair agency called Go Au pair, an Au Pair agency in America who help with finding you the right placement so that your time in the states is FUN, ENJOYABLE, HAPPY and THE BEST ONE EVER!
Each Au Pair is given an LAR (Local area representative) who help with setting up activities in your area with other au pairs and they also set up meetings with you and your family in order to talk about problems that you may have concerning your families and general meetings whereby they discuss Au Pair meetings/ activities, wages ect.. It is so much fun to be able to go on Au Pair outings as it is a stepping stone for you to go out there and meet new people in order to make a new circle of friends which makes your stay wonderful. Friends make the journey so worthwhile and especially since you are new in a specific area, it is great to be able to hang out with new people who are able to show you around the area in order to make you feel at home and enjoy your time in the states!
I come from a country that does not get snow so for me being able to see snow 4/5 times during the winter time and being able to play in the snow with my "kids" and my friends is such an amazing experience! Although, winter in the USA has been unbearable for me as these conditions are extremely cold for a 'Joburg' girl to handle, it is ALOT of fun. I am considdering the ides of staying with my family a second year as I would like to continue this great adventure and continue to make the most of it. I absolutely LOVE America, I LOVE my family, friends and I love the fact that I have been able to experience the greatest opportunity of my life! It definitely is one that I will NEVER forget and one that will continue to leave the GREATEST memories forever.

With your guidance, I found a great match, and cared for a little 5 month old girl for a year in a small town in Colorado, from there I ventured to a family with 3 kids in Virginia, and they too were a great match. Without a doubt being an Au Pair has been the best job ever. I have had the opportunity
